Paulo Araco, executive secretary of the Inter-American Human Rights Commission (IACHR), said on Friday that the agency had provided protection measures for the benefit of the interim president of the Republic of Juan Guido and his family members in Venezuela.
"IACHR has provided protection measures in favor of Juan Guaidó and family members in Venezuela," Abrao wrote in Twitter.
The Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Human Rights Commission explained that the decision was made after they considered that there was a situation at risk for the life and physical integrity of Guaydo and his family.
"Given the profile of Mr Guaidó at the moment, the Commission believes that he will face a greater vulnerability or risk situation if possible," the IACHR statement said.
