Today is 17 May World Day of Hypertension and the cardiologist Augusto Francisco Chois Málaga from Sanna – San Borja Clinic explains the importance of healthy eating and physical activity to control hypertension.
"The first thing to keep in mind is weight control, it's basically not to overweight and obese. This will be achieved by avoiding salt, fat, flour and especially packaged foods that usually contain high salt, "explains the doctor.
For Chois, the recommended diet for these people is the Mediterranean diet prepared with vegetables, fruits (not sweet) and fat-free white meats.
Follow a routine exercise every day for an hour, it is also advisable to walk or run, it will depend on the age you have.
Finally, eliminate harmful habits such as excessive consumption of tobacco or alcohol.
