YouTube's Popular Video Survey in 2019 shows which keywords are associated with the most views.
In the first week of 2019, Pew Research Center published an analysis of every YouTube video created by channels with high subscribers.
For the purpose of this study, a high-band channel is defined as having at least 250,000 subscribers. There are at least 43,770 channels with so many subscribers.
The analysis of the study is divided into three parts, but I will only examine the third part because it is most closely related to SEO.
The third part of the report focuses on keywords in video titles and descriptions that relate to more views.
YouTube keywords with the most views
The Pew Research Center shrinks a list of 20 keywords in YouTube video titles that are associated with the largest increase in median views.
Here are the first 20 keywords in a row:
- I eat
In particular, the keyword "Fortnite" is associated with the highest increase in viewpoints of all the words surveyed in the study. This is also the most common of the 20 most watched words.
When exploring the keywords used in titles and descriptions of YouTube videos, the study finds another common practice among high-bandwidth channels.
Seven-ten videos are related to other social media platforms. The most common social platforms were Twitter (58% of all videos), Facebook (51%), Instagram (50%) and Snapchat (9%).
Based on this data, the study concludes that mentioning other social media platforms is linked to the higher number of views as a whole.
